🖋️ Croccantino, Italian heritage
Crispy is a sweet, typical of many areas of Italy, made of caramelized sugar and almonds.
Nowadays there are many varieties of brittle in which the almonds of the original recipe are replaced by other types of dried fruit or other ingredients: But as we well know, our Frank has prepared some very good varieties of his own.
✍️ Historical notes
The croccante was mentioned in a Spanish text from the second half of the fifteenth century and this could lead one to think that its birth took place in Spain. Many, however, maintain that this typical sweet has Italian origins, born around 1200 in the South of Italy as a derivation of an Arab sweet, made with almonds, honey, sugar and spices.
😋 Frank's Crunchy
Frank slowly melts the powdered sugar in a non -tinned saucepan or pot , stirring continuously with a wooden spoon... A true master! 🤩 then adds the almonds or pistachios or peanuts (depending on taste). Continue stirring briefly to mix well and pour onto a mold or a cold marble slab. The product will soon solidify and can be sliced to create extraordinarily crunchy and sweet bars!
I bet your mouth is already watering, what are you waiting for? 🤤
